Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Amruta Goods Unpolished Yellow Moong Dal
- 1/2 cup Amruta Goods Foxtail Millet
- 1 tbsp Pure A2 Desi Ghee
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
- 1/4 tsp Asafoetida (Hing) & 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1-inch Ginger (finely chopped) & 1 Green Chili (slit)
- 1/2 cup mixed chopped vegetables (carrots, green peas, beans)
- 3.5 cups Water & Pink Rock Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Rinse & Soak: Wash the moong dal and foxtail millet thoroughly in water until clear. Soak together for 20-30 minutes, then drain.
- Prepare the Tempering: In a pressure cooker or heavy-bottom pot, heat 1 tbsp pure A2 ghee. Add cumin seeds, hing, chopped ginger, and green chili. Saute for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Saute Vegetables: Add chopped carrots, green peas, and turmeric. Stir-fry for 1 minute.
- Cook: Add the drained millet and moong dal. Pour in 3.5 cups water and add pink rock salt. Mix gently.
- Pressure Cook: Close lid and pressure cook on medium flame for 3-4 whistles (or simmer covered in a pot for 20 minutes until creamy and soft).
- Serve: Open after pressure releases naturally. Garnish with a fresh drizzle of ghee and fresh coriander. Serve hot with curd and papad!
